Independencia de Honduras – Google Celebrates Honduras’s Independence

The Google doodle for today celebrates Independencia de Honduras – or our Honduras Independence Day! The national bird of Honduras is represented in red, with a ribbon of blue and white, and the words “Honduras” in the center of the band.

Independencia de Honduras !

Likewise, they have paid tribute to other countries who have their Independencia today! The Google doodle displayed is based on what country your computer is located.   For example, Independencia de El Salvador, Independencia de Guatemala, etc.

The Google doodle for El Salvador shows the Izote flower, and a small quetzal for Guatemala with the same “Independencia de El Salvador” and “Independencia de Guatemala”, represented by a flower Izote, while that of Guatemala is a tiny quetzal, the national bird of that country.

The doodles used for Nicaragua and Costa Rica are also their national birds, the Guardabarranco and Yigüirro, respectively.

Thanks, Google for recognizing this special day for our countries!

Thanks so much for that beautiful detail, in behalf of Google, to the central american countries on our independence day. I got chills when I saw our national bird, the red “guara” and our beautiful name HONDURAS. It was more than emotional and yet appreciated from all of us central americans.

God bless Google, God bless America.
