Honduras starts the bicampeonato mission.

The Honduran Bicolor focuses on the Uncaf Cup, looking for the formula to win this tournament which they conquered in 2011, directed by Mexican coach Juan de Dios Castillo buddy.

The Honduran players reported to train this week under the command of coach Luis Fernando Suárez.

Honduras seeks to reach its fourth title approaching the six trophies by Costa Rica, the team that has won it more times and that will be the host in this year’s tournament.

The Honduran Selection will train this week and next Tuesday will travel to Costa Rica, where on Friday January 18th 2013 they debut against El Salvador in San Jose’s National Stadium.

Then return to play next January 22 against Panama to complete the matches of Group B of this Cup.

In Group A are the host Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize, and Nicaragua.

Five teams will classify to the Gold Cup to be played in United States in July.

For Suárez, this competition is important and he wants to qualify for the Gold Cup, but it is clear that he is more concentrated in the playoffs heading to Brazil 2014 than the games of the Central American Cup.

“I hope this Uncaf tournament will give us the classification to the Gold Cup, but we see it as a great preparation for the first game we play against United States because I am clear and emphatic: most importantly for Honduras today is the classification for the world cup“, expressed the helmsman of the Honduras National Team.

However, Suarez knows that Copa Uncaf is decisive because “the preparation in the Copa Uncaf will be reflected in the match against United States”, February 6th 2013  in the World Cup qualifying rounds.

Honduras will have almost the same base team of the qualifiers, who are the players in the MLS, but will rest those who play in Europe and goalkeeper Noel Valladares.
