Bush Talks in Honduras About Education

Jeb Bush, the former U.S. governor of Florida, will be talking in Tegucigalpa today about education.

He is in Honduras as part of Consejo Empresarial de América Latina (CEAL)- a regional conference addressing education, social security, and development. The conference was inaugurated by President Porfirio Lobo Sosa, and will be moderated by former President of Honduras, Ricardo Maduro. The event is sponsored by the Latin American Business Council (CEAL), in Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama.

Mr. Bush is presenting, “Quality Education and the Role of Private Enterprise.”

Jeb Bush was governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007, and has a degree in Latin American Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin. He is the son of former U.S. President George H. Bush and his wife Barbara.

He is also founder and chairman of the board of the Foundation for Excellence in Education. During his two terms, Jeb Bush fought for major educational reform.

The regional conference will have other speakers, such as Raul Rivera, who will give the lecture,”Our Time: Latin Americans in the twenty-first century.”
Vinicius Chelotti will discuss efforts to improve public safety, and Salvador Biguria will speak on “Development of the Country with Business Participation.”
