Curfew In Place Again This Evening

The government declared a curfew from 9:00 pm on Sunday until 5:00 am on Monday.

The measure was taken to preserve security and public order, after more calls for insurrection were made by former president Manuel Zelaya at the Brazilian embassy.

The curfew applies to all territories in Honduras except the departments of Gracias a Dios, the Bay Islands and the Municipality of Puerto Cortes.

See waht I mean folks. False Uncle Sam spouts one non sequiter after another. He can’t discuse the issue of the article so he picks up his megaphone to shout down reasonable voices. Veiw this o see which side is capable of the knd of violence he decries.

By restricting the freedom, by killing, beating, raping, and trying to frighten the people — the golpistas think that they can silence them.

They’re gravely mistaken. Their little world is crumbling. Those humpty dumpties long for the corrupt days of the past, which will never come back for them.

    fernanda,

Who is this Senator Jose Samey from Brazil.? Why does he say that the Brazilian embassy can not be used to interfere in the internal affairs of another country? I had heard that this Senator Samey was a friend of Lula but I think I was wrong because your embassy is protecting a fugitive from justice who is inciting people to insurection everyday in our largest city. Something tells me you would not not be pleased if such a thing happened in Brazil.

So once again who is Senator Samey? He doen’t seem as happy as you about what is going on. Maybe he knows a lot less than you even though the paper says he is head of yor Senate.

I am not an American but it is nonsense to say that the American militarty are anti democratic. It is a fantastic distortion. Elections have been held in Iraq and Afghanistan even as a war was going on. The American military are always the first to arive with aid whenever a disaster takes place.

What this article says is that the curfew is in place because Zelaya, in the Brazilian embassy, keeps calling for insurection. People have died because of these irresponsible acts of Zelaya. So we have a curfew.

The true imperialist is our “Uncle Sam”. We know the type. They do not think Latin Americans can have Constitutional Democracy. He thinks we are inferior and need instuction in what is best for us from such as him. Because of his far left phiosophy he is an outcast in his own land, the United States. He would never be allowed to govern their so he wishes to come among people he considers inferior so that he can show his superiority.

However, we should pity him. His comments are designed to calm his own mind when faced with facts that do not fit his false world view. Afterall we know the truth. He struggles with it and just when we think he might understand he blurts out a non sequiter like the one above.

The Majority of Honduras took it upon themselves to preserve their constitution to help prevent another dictator from prolonging his rule in office.

Article 374 of Honduras constitution states, “may not be reformed, in any case, the previous article, this article, the constitutional articles that relate to the form of government, the national territory, the presidential term, to the ban to be again President of the Republic, the citizen who has played under any title and the relating to those who cannot be Presidents of the Republic by the subsequent period.”

Uncle Sam, your rethoric is plain and simple, but above all incorrect, stay with the times, according to the Libray of Congress there was no coup, and still Hillary and Obama still support Zelaya, so get your stories clear, if America is behind the coup, how come Clinton & Co. decided to stop sending Honduras money?

You and GG and all like you keep on showing the same thing over and over again, that you are ignorant dreamers who wish for change with out knowing what is it that should change.

Prime example of this is that you support teachers going on strike when it is already well known that Honduras main problems radiate from iliteracy!!

Well if the pentagon is behind it and they keep mel out, Im happy with that!!

I love how you always post your personal opinions vs facts. And when you do post “facts” is from narco news….LOL

    k thnx bye

For the many whom seem to ignore this:

1)Zelaya’s familly is one of the richest in Honduras

    2) Zelaya’s familly has been ilegally cutting down trees in Honduras for many decades now.

    3) Zelaya’s older son and one of his brothers are some of the biggest narcotraffickers in Honduras.

    4) Zelaya himself is known for being as one of the worst persons to be employed under for he is a bad payer and extremelly rude and hostile.

    5) Zelaya comes from a region in Honduras known as having produced some of the more courageous and fearless Hondurans, yet hides behind the international law that protects him inside of an embassy to call his followers to action.
At least Castro did it from in front of his troops.

  9. Uncle Sam  September 28, 2009 at 4:50 pm

The Pentagon is behind the coup. They are afraid of democracy. Peace would put them out of business, so naturally they oppose peace and are constantly looking for chances to poke the eyes of those who refuse to kiss their butts. They are about as corrupt as men can be, so naturally they are very comfortable with the golpistas.

Fernanda, you are almost right, your country is doing the right thing now, but not your president, if you had kept up with the news of your own nation you would have noticed that the president of your Congress is saying that Zelaya should not be allowed to use the Brazilian embassy grounds to instigate for a rebellion, and serious newspapers also in Brazil are questioning why and how did Zelaya end up in your embassy.

Fernanda, and the ones thinking like her, the reality of Zelaya’s move to the left is obvious, simply by continuously hanging around with all major know players in that enviroment, and also seem to be praising and exalting their doings, even when it implies a horrendous record of violations of Human Rights, recently a Venezuelan woman posted that in that country there has been over 100,000 deaths related to oposition of Chavez.
And we all know the Castro brothers record.

You know Fernanda, Rob’s question is right:

Did you know that Zelaya did not campaign for president as an open leftist but more as a centrist?

If he wanted to do this from the beginning, then he lied to the voters, and if he decided to change once he was in the position of president, then he should have renounced on his own an go and be part of one the very well known leftist party’s in the official Honduran electoral ballot.

Do not expect Hondurans to be ignorant of what the word leftist means, we have been rejecting for over 55 years.

  11. Rob  September 28, 2009 at 3:57 pm

Hey Fernanda, I think you dont know left from right when it comes to the political world. Mel is clearly leftist, extreme leftist.

“Some groups considered to be far left do not wish to govern within the current institutional framework and this may be what distinguishes them from other left-leaning groups. In several countries, the term far left has been associated with ideologies such as communism, socialism, most factions of anarchism ”

That clearly describes Mel and his Chavez!

Right wing politics are more conservative and try to keep traditional values.

Whats funny is Mel went in as a centrist and a yr later was all extreme leftist…some one got paid!!

If a cat is to be regarded as being in the class of animals, then Zelaya is to regarded as being in the class of socialists.
Brazil is looking like a cow-s rearend to much of the world for trying to cause Honduras to reveerse an action that it took internally that was consistent with its constitution. Hopefully reasonable people will rein in Mula’s, I mean Lula’s irresponsible behavior.

  13. mssl  September 28, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Hondurans need to cowboy up themselves and get control of their country. Everyone in the world knows that democracy in Honduras is a joke. It doesn’t matter which of these guys are in office, things never really change in Honduras. Quit blaming other countries for your problems and actually run your government for a change.

  14. Honduras Democracy  September 28, 2009 at 4:22 am

Great documentry. The truth is from the majority of the Honduras Citizens that they did not accept a constitutional referndum, they stood firm against Zelaya’s actions and preserved their countries constitution. Only a few supporters of Zelaya choose to back the ousted ex-president. 90 percent of the Honduras population back the interm government and the army to serve and protect them.

The reality is, the odds are against Zelaya. It’s time to seek the path of political asylum.

This is crazy. Being a Brazilian, I’m extremely happy about our government’s action to this situation. While the US is taking a huge step back (while it should be doing the opposite) my country has finally stopped with its usual neutral position and stepped in to help Central America. Obviously the US will not be behind this coup (even though they were behind all the coups during the Cold War…) but if they really wanted to, they would have ended this a long time ago. Zelaya cannot be labeled a leftist, at first his policies did not bother the US or the elite, however, he was looking for the basic liberal ideals, free commerce! After getting close to the ALBA countries, of course the right + elite went crazy. And of course the US will not want that in any way either. Imagine breaking the monopoly and contracts… the US is only keeping this “we do not recognize this government” crap because supposedly they are all for democracy. Like I said before, if they really wanted to, Zelaya would’ve been back after 1 day.

Zelaya’s presence in the Brazilian Embassy has caused a great deal of problems for Honduras and the interm government. He is inticing his supporters to wreak havoc in the streets which will not be tolerated by the army and police.
