Anibal Baca, DNIC spokesperson, said the detainee was identified as Héctor Rolando Elvir Martínez, 43, a resident of the Campo Cielo neighborhood. Elvir Martínez had an arrest warrant issued on May 20, 2010 by the courts of Tegucigalpa.

Allegedly, “Elvir Martínez led a church and took advantage of the situation by carrying out acts of lust against minors,” Baca said. “One of the youngest was seven years old who had joined the choir.”

After the child began having behavioral problems, the parents sought help, and became aware of the terrible situation.
