Egypt wants the financial records and assets of former Hosni Mubarak offiials that migrated to Honduras.

The Egyptian authorities on Thursday asked the Supreme Court of Honduras and the Public Ministry to investigate the permanence and financial movements and relationships of 11 former officials of the dictator Hosni Mubarak in the country of Honduras.

The legal document, read on the Honduras radio station Radio HRN, was sent from the Egyptian representation in Guatemala through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras and includes requests for investigations including movements and whereabouts, financial records and migration of the former members of the Mubarak government.

The request also asked that the riches and goods of the former officials of the Mubarak regime, which could be in Honduras, are returned to Egypt.

Former President Hosni Mubarak is in a coma and has been removed from life support, amid tensions in the country about the next head of state, after an election whose outcome is still uncertain.

In February 2011, Mubarak resigned and the country was in the hands of a Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, a decision which was celebrated on the streets of Cairo as well as the majority of the nation.
