El Libertador Editor Claims Assault

According to the newspaper El Libertador, Rene Novoa, their Editor, was brutally beaten by the National Police and Armed Forces of Honduras yesterday late afternoon…

“Once again, a member of this company is a victim of the brutality by the state security agencies which have been operating outside the law. In the past six months they have been devoted to suppressing and killing the people that have opposed the dictatorial regime led by Roberto Micheletti.”

Novoa claims his assault took place in public at Miraflores Plaza on Tuesday afternoon, where troops of the National Police and Armed Forces yelled verbal abuse at the Editor and another occupant, then “they entered the taxi and proceeded to torture in public, the two people heading downtown to perform personal errands. Rene Novoa said, “We fell violently into the taxi, and were suppressed without justification. I was hit in the side with the butts of their regulation weapons. When I wanted to check on my other companion, a soldier suddenly gave me a sharp blow in the pit of the stomach which left me breathless on the floor for a moment.”

Next, the police left “without saying a word, so we proceeded to retreat to our dwellings, without help from bystanders who had witnessed the abuse by the representatives of law and order.”

El Libertador, since the change of presidency, claims to have been subjected to numerous harassment and death threats.

My question is, what errand were they suppose to do to make the National Police and Armed Forces get upset with them? I s it about opposing the national interest of the honduran people? if that is the case i want them 6 feet under the ground…..he? he? he.

You are 110% correct jamespadgett, it is one of the reasons why the whole world is upside down now.

How is it possible for those people to do all these awfull things and not get reprimanded by world opinion, but if anybody touches one of their kind all kind of organizations scream in protest?

That is why I keep on asking (without getting a response yet) what is the formula that the Human Rights Org. and Ammesty International use to determine which Humans have Rights and which do not??

Or Axel – as they killed Pres. Micheletti’s nephew…and the former General..and the man who was returning from mass and got out of his car as their parade was coming …and who they beat to death? What about the man who was kidnapped? Has he been found?

He should be happy, at least they did not kill him as the ‘Resistance’ killed the daughter of the newswoman who reported the truth about Zelaya, poor kid, an expecting mother killed because they did not like what her mom said.

It must have been an extremelly large vehicle that was being used as a taxi, for all that to hapen inside of it.

And how come no body is coming out to claim they witnessed that event?

These people trully believe their on lies, hopefully the common reader is not as gulible as they believe them to be.
