Electricity Cost Increase

Rolando Castillo, Marketing Manager of Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica (ENEE), said that starting this month adjustments had to be made for the increasing fuel cost. Electricity went up 7.5 percent.

Castillo explained that this month there will be the 7.5 percent increase, and if the upward trend in oil prices continues, the bill for January will increase to 9.5 percent.

Liberty and freedom of choice always carry a price, and we all can expect Chavez and his allies to raise the price of fuel to countries that do not follow their rules.

The fact that Chavez has been making friends with other oil producing countries like Russia and Iran diminishes our chances of finding providers who will charge less for it, and since the Saudis are the ones footing the bill for most of the fanatic Muslim organisations fighting the USA, we are really in for a long ride.

Honduras will have to find ways to generate more cash (Tourism sounds good) and more energy (Wind driven generators, Solar energy?)

Those are solutions already being used by other countries, and have proven themselves to be highly effective if used correctly.

Come on Honduras, it is time we stop trying to reinvent the wheel and start using it instead.

There are many ideas out there that we can copy and use them to catch up with modern technology, and then we can start trying to be creative, but as of now, we better start doing what we need to do, not just what we want or like.
