Green Alert in Effect for Atlantida, Cortez and More

Flights at Toncontin International Airport were canceled or delayed today due to a low cloud ceiling in the capital, and civil aviation authorities briefly suspended flights at Goloson in La Ceiba and Juan Manuel Galvez, in Roatan.

The airlines at Toncontin in Tegucigalpa have suggested passengers phone ahead to ensure their flights are still available. Security measures do not allow flights if the runway is wet and visibility is less than 5 miles; the rain is expected to continue throughout Honduras, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO) maintains Green alert for the departments of Atlantida, Cortes, Colon, the Bay Islands, Gracias a Dios and northern Yoro, due to the rains that have arisen in the area.

Temperatures are ranging between 11 and 17 degrees Celsius in the west, 16 and 26 degrees in the central area, 20 and 26 in the north, 24 and 35 in the south. These temperatures will increase or decrease during the morning and evening hours.
