A low pressure system that entered thru Nicaragua has left heavy rains in the eastern region and north coast of Honduras especially in La Ceiba where some low areas have been flooded.

According to analysis from the National Meteorological Service of Honduras, the rains will continue for the next 12 hours moderately with amounts of 40 to 70 millimeters especially in the mountainous areas.

Under these conditions COPECO declared Yellow alert for Gracias a Dios, Colon, Atlantida, Bay Islands, Cortes, Yoro, Olancho and El Paraiso.

No evacuations have been registered in La Ceiba, but the firedepartment made a call to those families living near the rivers to remain alert at all times because the precipitation has been really high in Cordillera Nombre de Dios.
