Honduras has installed many water treatment plants like this one, funded by the BCIE, in Choluteca.

President Porfirio Lobo Sosa acknowledged this at the opening of a new drinking water facility in the city of Juticalpa, the capital of the department of  Olancho.  The project will significantly improve the distribution of this vital liquid throughout the city.

The president, who was born in Juticalpa, assured the crowd that up until his last day of office, this government will work for the benefit of Honduras through other initiatives, such as tying the central highway and Comunayaca, which represents an investment of another 300 million lempiras in water systems.

The SANAA drinking water treatment plant in Juticalpa hosted the event.  In attendance were the Mayor of Juticalpa, Ramón Sarmiento, the presidential commissioner  of the Patook region, Jorge Lobo, the political Governor of Olancho, Luis Colman, the congresspeople Francisco Rivera, Gillian Guifarro, Sandra García and Denis Mejía, as well as other notable figures, such as the representative for the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, (BCIE – El Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica) Margie Godoy.
