President Lobo converses with Michel Martelly, the President of Haiti

Honduras is sending environmental experts on reforestation to Haiti this week, as this past year, Haiti’s government has been promoting a seed planting initiative.

Last week, President Porfirio Lobo met with the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, who was in Spain for the 22nd Ibero-American Summit. They spoke of access to education and environmental protection, and the possibility of Honduras granting scholarships for Haitian students to attend the National School of Biological Sciences in Honduras.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed the potential accession by Haiti into SICA, the Central American Integration System; Honduras is expected to support Haiti’s integration into that body.
