Honduras Spent MCC Money Well

The chairman of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Yohanes Daniels, said he was proud of how Honduras administered its funds.

“Honduras has demonstrated a sound approach to show the sustainability beyond the life of the investment of the MCC. I am proud of that MCC has made the alliance; the people of Honduras should also be proud.”

He stressed that thanks to the MCC, thousands of producers get to market their fresh produce at better prices than they did before.

“Whole communities are experiencing the benefits of having a safe and quick transport to markets and social services.”

“These results are an exceptional basis, and I am convinced that Honduras will continue leveraging to reduce poverty and further development in the future,” he said.

The U.S. ambassador in Honduras, Hugo Llorens, also described Honduras’ exemplary performance in the handling and administration of resources and programs of the Millennium Challenge Account by the government of President Porfirio Lobo Sosa.

The diplomat said that the MCC is one of the most successful initiatives promoted by his government, and that Honduras was a good example of how to use the resources provided.
