Honduras Tops Venezuela 2-0

The Honduran National Team was victorious in last night’s friendly soccer game against Venezuela, 2-0.

Forward Carlo Costly scored the two goals at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The goals were kicked only 10 minutes apart, during the second half of the soccer match. The first was at 58 minutes, off a corner kick by Mario Martíez, the second goal was at the 68th minute – a pass from teammate Jerry Ricardo Bengtson Bodden, which Costly deftly guided in for another score. Bengtson Bodden made his official debut for Honduras against Venezuela back in April of 2010.

Adding to the excitement, midfielder Roger Espinoza and Marvin Chávez played for the team. Espinoza started things off and went 82 minutes before leaving the field. Chávez came on as a sub in the 63rd minute, and immediately went for a score, but sent a shot just wide of the post.

Overall a great game! Congratulations Los Catrachos!!
