Human Rights Mission Due in Honduras Sunday

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights announced it would send a mission to Honduras on Sunday to investigate the fundamental rights violations committed since the ouster of former President Manuel Zelaya.

The objective of the mission will be to gather the necessary information to prepare a special report requested by the Human Rights Council (HRC), said the office of High Commissioner, Navi Pillay, in a statement.

On October 1, 2009, the HRC adopted a resolution calling for Pillay to arrange for a comprehensive report on human rights abuses since the change of power occurred in late June.

The visiting mission will prepare the report, whose conclusions and recommendations will be presented to Pillay at the UN General Assembly next month. In order to fulfill their task, the mission allegedly will meet with representatives of all parties in the political conflict.

The United Nations is a PATHETIC J-O-K-E!!! They are totally biased. You can bet the human rights team will receive plenty of made up lies and stories..and take them at face value. Since Mr. Micheletti has not yielded to the U.N.’s demands to re-instate Zelaya, you can bet they will make a very bad report on his government.
In the U.S. – a great many of us are for demanding the U.S. be moved out of our country and that we withdraw membership from it.
The U.S. pays for the biggest part of its operation and yet it treats the U.S. like dirt. It is run by some little bozo from South Korea.
Just know that this Human Rights team is a part of the bigger U.N. agenda to get Zelaya back in and will paint a very FALSE PICTURE OF the Micheletti govt. and how it has conducted itself (including the police and army since the removal of Ze-liar, I mean Zelaya.
