President Lobo Admits Honduras Has Security Issues

People thought that Pepe Lobo would bring security. “Sadly, we have not had the expected results, and I assume my responsibility because it was my commitment to the people”, the Honduran president stated.

Lobo also acknowledged that to achieve these security objectives, the justice system and the National Police must be improved because they have been weakened by infiltration of organized crime and impunity with which they act covered by the leaders of the institution.

On Wednesday, Lobo attended the launch of the project Copan 2012, where, in the face of suspicions about the government’s prospects to receive more tourists in the area next year, he said that his government will support local authorities to reach the expected goals.
