Must See Inverview with Canandian Survivor

A Canadian woman who watched a pirate gun down her father on his boat off the coast of Honduras said she yelled at the attackers as she waved a flare gun at them, asking them why they had shot her dad.

“I said: ‘What did you do? What have you done?’ I don’t know if they heard that. Maybe it was just the gun that made them take off. I don’t know,” Myda Egrmajer, 24, said in an exclusive and emotional interview on CBC-TV’s Connect with Mark Kelley.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the experience, Egrmajer recounted the Dec. 2 ordeal that left her father Milan Egrmajer, 55, of Ottawa, dead. Because of bad weather, they had anchored his sailboat in a lagoon near an island about 30 kilometres north of the Honduran coast, off the port community of Tela.

Her heart-wrenching story was told to CBC TV.
