Joseé Celin Discua, head of the nationalist bloc of deputies, said the funds will be transferred to the Directorate of Science and Technology (DICTA), which is responsible for distribution of improved seed and fertilizer to farmers in Honduras.

The bonus will be awarded mainly to small farmers who lost their crops due to heavy rains that hit the country in August and September.

The liberal deputy, Yuri Sabas, said the government should manage these resources transparently, as they are about 160 million lempiras that must be paid to the Venezuelan government through Petrocaribe.

Similarly, Sabas said the bonus should be given to people who actually need it, and not use this program for political purposes.
