“New Horizons” US Marine Corps arrived in Honduras to Provide Humanitarian Aid

On Tuesday June 2nd 2015 the US Marine Corps troops assigned to the “New Horizons” team arrived in the Country of Honduras to perform various humanitarian missions.

The Marines who will be in Honduras through August will also be ready to assist in any possible natural disasters that may occur such as “Hurricane’s”
They brought with them Super Stallion CH-53E helicopters to aid in the support of this first of a kind mission which will focus on providing transportation to their central headquarters as well as logistics deployment and emergency response.
These helicopters were designed especially for the transport of heavy loads, such as construction equipment. On this occasion, they will be utilized by the Marine Corps engineers who will be conducting  projects to improve the infrastructure of the Country of Honduras.
The US Marines will participate in community service activities and training events with their Honduran counterparts in the Department of Gracias a Dios.
