Pensions of Public Employees Grants 2,514 Loans

The executive director the National Institute of Retirement and Pensions of Public Employees (INJUPEMP) Andres Torres, reported that in the first half of this year the institution has disbursed over one billion lempiras in personal loans.

He explained that 68 percent of the money paid was for new loans, 31 percent were refinances, and one percent interest.

Mr. Torres added that as of August, 2,514 personal loans were granted.

He noted that his administration will encourage the streamlining of administrative procedures, so that loans are approved within 24 hours, and those granted a loan, have a guarantee that the funds will be disbursed in 36 hours.
