Rations Distributed to Rain Victims

Through the regional COPECO office and the World Food Programme (WFP), Honduran army soldiers prepared rations for 93 tons of food to be distributed to those affected by the rains in Trujillo and Yoro.

The food consists of grains, oil and flour, according to Jorge Matute, manager of the office of the World Food Programme, who explained further that the office was low on provisions, and now with this distribution, they are facing an emergency.

Saúl Alemán, Deputy Commissioner for the departmental office of COPECO, said that with the humanitarian help that has been received, they are able to meet the needs of the populations of Colón, and the municipalities of Olanchito and Arenales, in Yoro.

In addition, pre-prepared food was sent to the victims, which is of a great benefit, as it only needs to be heated before it can be eaten.
