Soto Cano Communications to Improve

Harris Corp., which sells communications and information technology products and services, won a contract worth up to $38 million with the US Air Force to provide information technology services to its Joint Task Force Bravo at Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras.

Harris is headquartered in Melbourne, Fla. and has about 1,500 employees in the Washington area. They will provide support for the Joint Task Force’s network and telecommunications help desk, upgrade services, provide network security and management services, and support power production at remote sites.

The contract has one base year and four one-year options to extend the work.

Harris is partnering with Harris Communications Honduras, Charter Trading Company, STG Inc., and Smartronix on the contract. Harris operates in more than 150 countries, has about 15,000 employees, and generates about $5 billion in annual revenue.
