U.S.A. Reps to Discuss Military Partnerships with Honduras

U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Joseph Kernan and U.S. Foreign Political Advisor to the U.S. Southern Command Ambassador Carmen Martinez Visit Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA – On February 15, U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Joseph K. Kernan, Military Deputy Commander of U.S. Southern Command, and Ambassador Carmen Martinez, Civilian Deputy to the Commander and U.S. Foreign Policy Advisor to U.S. Southern Command, visited Tegucigalpa. U.S. Southern Command, located in Miami, Florida, promotes security cooperation throughout the 16 million square mile area of Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

During their visit, Kernan and Martinez met with U.S. officials and Honduran military officials — including Chief of Staff of the Honduran Armed Forces General Rene Osorio Canales — to discuss continued military partnerships in the region.
