Visit from Ecuador’s President

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Delgado is visiting Honduras today to strengthen bilateral relations.

Accompanied by Foreign Minister Fander Falconi, Correa will meet with President Manuel Zelaya, to whom he intends to explain the process of changes carried out in his South American country.

“This visit is aimed at promoting Latin American integration, sharing Ecuador’s experience in drawing up a new Constitution, in the Democratic Reform of the State and in strengthening the National Planning System,” an official communicate says.

Both parties are expected to establish a mechanism to exchange information and repatriate illegal Ecuadorians arrested in Honduras. They will also discuss measures to boost trade relations, and will submit a project for Ecuador to recognize the certificates granted by the Zamorano Pan-American Agriculture University.

President Correa will visit Copan’s Archeological Park and the Zamorano University, where several Ecuadorian citizens are studying and teaching, and where he will give a master lecture on National Agricultural Police.
