Ana Belin Hernández Flores was riding in a taxi when her delivery began. Fearing stains on the seat of his vehicle, the driver asked her to move to the street. In the midst of her labor pains, the mother got out, in the middle of the boulevard, where she gave birth to a beautiful little baby girl.

Hernandez’s husband, who works as a security guard, came immediately on a motorcycle, and after seeing the situation, left for the hospital to get an ambulance. None were available, so he opted to call the fire department. Rescuers arrived within seconds and immediately proceeded to assist. The firemen eventually cut the cord, and wrapped the infant in one of their uniform jackets.

Hernández Flores’s husband was quite upset, and stated, “I would have paid for the upholstery in the car.”

Mrs. Hernandez did not recall the taxi number, and had no idea of the name of her driver.
