Workers show their support towards the Fourth Urn

Thousands of workers celebrated Labor Day on May 1st in Honduras with a historic manifestation in favor of the installation of a Fourth ballot box (Cuarta Urna) to summon to a popular and participating democratic Constituent National Assembly, which allows a new Constitution that responds to the interest of the people.

Although many analysts who are against the government said that the workers were paid, the workers were not scared to expose that they want a popular consultation that is not a continuing government but it is going to give a new Constitution that responds to the interests of the people.

The march began at 8:30 in the morning lead by a group of taxi drivers and motorcycles that had a ballot box on top of their vehicles to manifest their support in favor of the popular opinion. Followed by thousands of people showing their support.

The leadership of the National coordinator of Popular Resistance march by supporting the fourth urn and demanding every business owner the payment of the minimum wage salary to their employees.

The workers also maintained their historic demands for the price of basic food, citizen security, and fair wages; avoid the privatization of public services, nationalization strategic production companies, jail to the corrupt and respect to union organizations.

In synthesis, the workers demanded to bury the neo-liberal model for a policy that guarantees the enjoyment justice, apply taxes to the imports to protect the national production and implement a common policy of small producers and the restoration of the Central American union.

    To Oliver. My friend, I’m honduran, so I guess I have more right to speak than you. The Fourth Urn is a popular petition, in which they’ll be asked if they want to reform the Constitution. To your knowledge, our Constitution is very bad-done, so a reform it’s necessary. Go revolution!!!

    Most of the people doesn’t wont the “forth box”
    Nobody likes Zelaya. Honduras in 4 years got more droug, violence then ever….why?
    More information and less servilism.
    NO forth box, not whith Zelaya !!!!
