World Bank Strong-Arms Honduras

“It’s a situation that is in flux and fluid, and in this case we’re trying to play a supportive role with the region and it’s overall goals to restore democracy,” Zoellick said. “We’ve basically put a pause on our lending.”

The World Bank’s fiscal year starts July 1st, and Honduras was to receive roughly $80 million from bank’s International Development Association (IDA), in the upcoming year.
