Zelaya Supporters Disobey Resistance

Shouting slogans in support of the former President of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, members of the so-called “Resistance Against the Coup, decided to take to the streets of San Pedro Sula to express their dissatisfaction with the general elections held in the country, and in six U.S. cities as well.

Zelayistas took to the streets despite calls from the resistance leaders for his supporters to keep a “people’s curfew” on Sunday, asking that no one leave their home, or participate in the elections.

“Mel, my friend, the people are with you” and “we love you we love you Mel,” chanted the supporters of the former president, who gathered in Freedom Square in the northern city.

An estimated 2,000 people were involved in the protest.

For his part, Manuel Zelaya said days ago he will contest the elections.

Praise God for the very large turnout for the elections and for the peace and absence of disturbances! This is an answer to a great many prayers on the part of many – and excellent planning and preparation by the Honduran government and police.
