Zelaya’s Team Returns to Negotiations

Dialogue resumed late this afternoon after the negotiating committee of former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya agreed to consider the proposal submitted by the current government of Honduras, headed by interim President Roberto Micheletti.

“The talks resumed today … at least (the new proposal) contains elements that can be analyzed and discussed,” said Rodil Rivera, a negotiator for Manuel Zelaya.

He noted that they will return to the table, even if it is to reject the proposal made by the government. Rivera went to the Brazilian embassy to consult with Zelaya on the proposal, and the meeting with the former president began at about 2:40 p.m.

The entire content of the new proposal is unknown, however, according to Armando Aguilar, who has helped negotiate for the Honduran government, Micheletti’s commission has suggested that each of the parties consult with any of the powers of State that they deem appropriate “to decide a dispute on the claim” of Zelaya of being reinstated to the presidency,

why oh why is Honduras allowing the minyons of zelaya to travel back and forth to the Brazilian embassy?

Whatever happened to cutting off the food, water, and telephones of the Brazilian embassy?

Whatever happened to the policy of strangling the embassy until they gave up the criminal treasonist zelaya??

personally, I would prefer to see Honduras violate the grounds of the Brazilian embassy, and go in and get the criminal, and then deal with the international complaints afterwards, how could it be any worse than what the international community is saying and doing now???
